Winstrol is by far one of the most popular anabolic steroids of all time; in fact, it is one of the few steroids that a person who does not use steroids can name. It was the hormone stanozolol that made headlines during the 1988 Olympics when Ben Johnson was stripped of his medal and has been linked to MLB more times than you can count.

Winstrol is one of the oldest anabolic steroids in existence. While it is far from the oldest, it dates back to the 1950s. The hormone Stanozolol was first developed by Winthrop Laboratories under the brand name Winstrol. The hormone Stanozolol has since been found under numerous brand names around the world, but the name Winstrol remains the most popular and well recognised.

A long-time favourite amongst athletes and bodybuilders, Stanozolol has also seen considerable success in the medical community and is still used quite regularly. Functions and properties of winstrol

Stanozolol is a dihydrotestosterone (DHT) based anabolic steroid. Specifically, Stanozolol is a structurally modified form of the DHT hormone, two specific modifications of DHT that give us Stanozolol. The first modification is the addition of an attached pyrazole group to the A-ring instead of a 3-keto group. This makes Stanozolol a heterocyclic steroid. The second change is the addition of a methyl group. This change occurs at the 17th carbon position and places stanozolol in the 17-alpha-alkylated (C17-aa) category.

The structural changes made to DHT, which give us stanozolol, dramatically reduce the androgenicity of the hormone and greatly increase its anabolic activity. Stanozolol has an anabolic rating of 320 and an androgenic rating of 20, and actual use will match these structural ratings very well.
